Parent Technology Handbook - Powerschool for Parents

2022-2023 Parent Technology Handbook

EICS offers several division-wide technology resources which allow parents to access information (such as grades and communications) related to their children, as well as submit information such as forms and fee payments to their schools.  This page provides some technical documentation which can help parents get the most out of these tools.

Please click the links below to access a PDF of each of the documents.

PowerSchool

PowerSchool is one of the main tools provided to parents.  It allows parents to submit forms, pay fees, view report cards and other school documents, and more.

Submitting Student Forms Through SchoolEngage

SchoolEngage is our registration and student form tool.  New Parents can register students to attend an EICS school through this tool, while existing parents are encouraged to submit yearly demographic forms, transportation forms and a variety of other types of form through this tool.

Rycor Student Quickpay

Rycor Student Quickpay provides parents with the ability to pay fees and submit fee related forms online.

Using SchoolMessenger And Safe Arrival

SchoolMessenger is the main communication tool EICS uses to send messages to parents.  Additionally, the Safe Arrival capability within SchoolMessenger allows parents to log into their account and identify upcoming student absences without needing to contact the school personally.

Submitting Demographic Confirmation Forms

The below video provides parents with a demonstration of how to complete and submit demographic confirmation forms through PowerSchool/SchoolEngage.

Submitting Yearly Consent Forms

Each year, parents are required to review various consent forms and submit their responses.  This consent is required in order for students to have access to EICS technology resources, participate in field trips, and (when applicable) be allowed access to a personal locker.

The video below provides a demonstration of how to submit these consent forms in the beginning of the school year.
