Collaborative Response Coordinators

Elk Island Catholic Schools welcomes all students and provides an equal opportunity for all students to achieve success according to their unique potential within the context of the most enabling learning environment. EICS has been working for several years to establish a systematic framework for addressing the needs of students at all levels of development. This framework is called the Collaborative Response Model.

In each school, the Collaborative Response Coordinator, in collaboration with the School Leadership team, provides leadership, assistance, and support in meeting the needs of all students. This challenging role has four major components:

  • identification and assessment,
  • consultation and coordination and,
  • direct service to students and teachers
  • co-leading the collaborative team meetings as part of the Collaborative Response Model.

The amount of time spent on each component varies from school to school, based on the needs of individual students, the strengths and needs of school staff members, and the unique resources available within each school community.
