Our Logo

Our logo represents many of the concepts contained in our Mission Statement and Statement of Beliefs.

The two figures represent the adult-child relationship, which is fundamental to Early Childhood Services (ECS) to Grade 12 education. This relationship is portrayed as one of caring, nurturing and instructing. While the graphic encourages us to consider our relationship with one another in this context, it also encourages us to reflect on our relationship with God,   our Creator.

The presence and location of the cross in relation to the figures places the members of the Division and their work together in the context of our goal as Catholic Christians - that of eternal life in the Trinity through Jesus Christ. This core Catholic doctrine is particularly meaningful for members of the Division in that it reminds us of the two Catholic traditions, the Ukrainian and the Roman, which we regularly celebrate in our schools.

The choice of the blue colour is intended to represent our reliance on Mary, Mother of God, to intercede for us in our work and in our relationships. We are also reminded of the dedication of parishes in Camrose, Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park and Vegreville, and of schools in all the communities we serve, to Our Lady.

The human figures are presented as a stylized E representative of the Elk Island Catholic Schools.
